Regarding the gaming industry, we cannot forget one firm, EA. Because of world-famous games like FIFA, Battlefield, and Need for Speed, the firm has solidified its reputation in the gaming industry in good and bad ways.

While the company has experienced ups and downs, their recent releases of bangers like Need for Speed Unbound and Dead Space Remake and their ongoing development of eagerly anticipated titles like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Wild Hearts suggest that EA’s single-player line-up is looking great.

With the newly released Dead Space Remake and Need For Speed Unbound, EA has had great success. Both the games far exceeded expectations, received outstanding accolades from critics and fans, and the Dead Space remake even garnered over 30K concurrent players immediately upon launch.

In addition, the upcoming games Star Wars Jedi Survivor and Wild Hearts are also eagerly anticipated by fans. Both Wild Hearts and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor are scheduled for release in 2023, on February 16 and March 17, respectively.

However, EA has been doing better for a long time now. In 2021, EA published It Takes Two from Hazelight Studios. It Takes Two was received exceptionally well and won Game of The Year at TGA 2021.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was also seen as a great addition to the Star Wars universe, and the upcoming sequel is looking even better. However, EA and Respawn Entertainment are also working on a brand new Star Wars FPS, which is focused mainly on single-player. 

Looking at the future, EA Motive is also making a brand new Iron Man game, showing the publisher’s current commitment to single-player releases. This starkly contrasts EA’s outlook on the gaming industry from several years ago. The publisher once claimed that single-player games were finished, but EA does not appear to believe this anymore. 

EA is far from perfect, and recent releases like Battlefield 2042 have suffered from a terrible launch. The company’s sports gaming catalog continues to be similar to previous entries, with abundant micro-transactions. 

However, one thing is sure. EA is slowly improving, and the current slate of single-player releases from the publisher is nothing short of fantastic, coming from the same company that had seemingly wanted to abandon the genre altogether.
