Elden Ring Creator Taking Inspiration From Multiplayer Games

"Especially speaking of Escape from Tarkov."

Elden Ring is one of the most famous games that has been the talk of 2022, and still, the game’s hype is intact. Undoubtedly the game has been a massive success for the creator Hidetaka Miyazaki as it won the Game of the Year Award in 2022.

During an interview with IGN, the creator of Elden Ring, Hidetaka Miyazaki, revealed that he has been looking at multiplayer games for inspiration for his future games so he can stay up to date with modern technology. He said in the interview:

“I’m not really sure whether this is the latest trend, but the multiplayer elements that, in terms of both technology and the game designs, we keep updating, so I’m really interested in that as one of the fans and one of the creators.

Especially speaking of Escape from Tarkov, for example.”

Furthermore, the designer added:

“I’m basically paying attention to those elements as a creator and fan of the game.”

It is apparent in the statement that Miyazaki finds Escape from Tarkov pretty compelling as a multiplayer game, which might mean he is inspired to make a game like that. However, he didn’t go into detail regarding this statement.

Escape from Tarkov is a multiplayer FPS video game that created a new experience for the FPS community. The game is exciting and different, perhaps why Miyazaki has become interested.

Miyazaki is paying close attention to all the elements that other people in the industry are implementing as he wants to know more about the multiplayer system in depth. He also mentioned that the success of Elden Ring wouldn’t change his approach to game design.

He goes on about the success of Elden Ring and claims their policy that this success didn’t affect what they are going to create next as they will keep creating the game they want to make, which is their policy.

This claim is quite remarkable as Elden Ring is undoubtedly a massive success for him, but he won’t let it change the policy and will continue to work in his way.

It has been a year since Elden Ring was released, and it has sold 20 million copies worldwide, which is a remarkable feat. Moreover, it is worth noticing that the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree has been announced.
