Resident Evil 4 is among the most iconic entries in the franchise. The game was released in 2005, and Capcom’s remake has quickly impressed old and new players.
Resident Evil 4 Remake was released a few days ago, and the game has stellar critical reviews, living up to industry-wide expectations.
Capcom has also revealed that the remake has sold 3 million copies in the first two days, making it the second-best launch of the Resident Evil Series.
The best launch by Capcom is still Resident Evil 6, which launched in 2012. It sold over 4 million copies in the first two days.
Nonetheless, Resident Evil 4 Remake crossing the 3 million mark is an impressive feat that recent Resident Evil games have not achieved. It is also worth noticing that Resident Evil Village sold 3 million units in four days.
As stated earlier, the game was well-received but not perfect. Resident Evil 4 Remake disappoints a bit on PS4 because of poor performance. The game shows issues with the visuals and framerates, which is unsurprising since the PS4 hardware is so old.
The game will receive an update in April allowing players to try The Mercenaries mode. In this mode, players must kill enemies within a set time limit.
Resident Evil 4 Remake also surpassed the Resident Evil Village peak concurrent player counts on Steam. The game has just been released, so these figures will likely continue increasing.
The game was released on platforms like PlayStation, Xbox Series S|X, and PC and has also reached the top 3 best-rated Metacritic games of 2023. Aside from that, what do you think of the recent remake as the series’ second-best launch?
