The Last of Us Part 1 PC Port Becomes Naughty Dog’s Worst Rated Game

Worst Release From Naughty Dog Yet!

Fans eagerly waited to play Joel and Ellie’s story for the first time on the PC for many years, and this hype led to The Last of Us Part 1 becoming the best-selling game on Steam before its release.

But the game did not meet expectations, and just after few hours after its launch, it saw a plethora of negative reviews on Steam. Now, The Last of Us Part 1 has seen a similar trend on Metacritic with a score of 56, becoming the worst-rated game in the history of Naughty Dog.

The game’s issues range from long loading times to excessively long shader compilation. Moreover, many players have been facing crashing issues, making the game unplayable.

This is in addition to the subpar performance, with the game being extremely CPU intensive. VRAM requirements are another controversial aspect, pushing graphics cards like GeForce RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3080 to lower settings for suitable resolutions.

It should also be noted that The Last of Us Part 1 is significantly more popular than recent PlayStation ports. Prior to its release, PlayStation games like Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection did not gather a vast player base on PC.

This makes the PC port all the more disappointing, leaving a mark on Naughty Dog’s otherwise excellent reputation over the years. While the current average rating stands at 56, it may go down even further if the game is not fixed promptly.

However, Naughty Dog has assured users that the team is already working on fixes. Multiple patches have already been released; more are expected to follow later this week.
