Capcom has been going back and remaking many older Resident Evil games, and so far they are doing a fantastic job, as the remakes have seen enthusiasm from audiences and the industry.
Just recently, Capcom released the remake of Resident Evil 4, which was a massive success. The game was adored by players and critics alike, and in a matter of days, it sold more than 3 million units worldwide.
Looking at this success, Capcom has little reason to stop at Resident Evil 4, and it looks like the company may already be planning its next remake. Recently, noticed by a Reddit user, the Resident Evil 4 Remake’s final cutscene hints at a potential Resident Evil 5 Remake.
Wesker’s scene in the final cutscene has several connections to Resident Evil 5, as the Underground Garden can be seen at the center of the screen, which is a key location in Resident Evil 5, as it is the place where the Progenitor Virus originated from.
Moreover, Excella Gione can also be seen on the left side of the screen. She partnered with Wesker during the game, and these ties to Resident Evil 5 may indicate that Capcom is already considering the remake.
Resident Evil 5 is in a situation where it does not strictly need a remake. It was released in 2009 and has aged much better than some of the older Resident Evil games. However, given how well Capcom is doing, a remake of Resident Evil 5 with a few modifications may be a welcome release.
In terms of future content, a VR version of the Resident Evil 4 remake is in development and a free mercenaries update is also planned on April 7. The Separate Ways DLC from the original Resident Evil 4 Remake is also rumored to be making its way into the remake.
So it looks like Capcom would have us busy for a while before the potential Resident Evil 5 Remake. This is all the information we have for now, but what do you think about the Resident Evil 4 remake final cutscene hinting at the Resident Evil 5 remake? Let us know in the comments section.
