These crossovers make the game appealing to fans of other franchises, contributing to higher sales. The game also received free enhancements for Xbox Series X|S and PS5.
The upgrade introduced improved visuals, 4K resolution, cross-play, and cross-gen features. Additionally, Mortal Kombat extends beyond just video games. It has also been adapted into multiple live-action films, animated films, and comic book series, all of which may have played a part in the latest game’s success.
Mortal Kombat continues to top the charts, and a new entry is expected to arrive soon. Mortal Kombat 12 was previously announced in an investor’s call and is expected to be revealed in the next few months, possibly at the upcoming PlayStation showcase or Summer Games Fest.
