Nvidia To Release GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB In July

Finally Enough VRAM!

Nvidia might have been listening to the community’s feedback and changed its decision before launching a new RTX 40 series graphics card. According to a reliable source MEGAsizeGPU, Nvidia plans to launch three variants for the GeForce RTX 4060 models.

It has been reported several times now that both the GeForce RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti from Nvidia will come equipped with only 8 GB of VRAM. While 8 GB of VRAM used to be okay, it is not the case anymore with the latest games anymore, which can often require more than 12 GB of VRAM, even at 1080p resolution.

Nvidia is now expected to launch two GeForce RTX 4060 Ti graphics card versions. One will come equipped with 8 GB of VRAM, while a 16 GB variant will be introduced later. MEGAsizeGPU has also reported that Nvidia is planning to announce all three variants of the RTX 4060 series this month.

Among the three new upcoming RTX 40 series cards, the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8 GB will be the first graphics card on the shelves this month. On the other hand, the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB and RTX 4060 will be available for purchase later in July.

Launching a GeForce RTX 4060 Ti with more memory is a surprise. The green team has now decided to go with 16 GB of VRAM instead of 12 GB last year. However, increasing the memory size won’t improve performance on the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti over the 8 GB version due to the limited 128-bit memory bus.

The launch of the GeForce RTX 4070 was not too well received due to its price and 12 GB of VRAM, even with the last-minute decision to cut the cost of the GeForce RTX 4070 before launch. Due to its low demand, Nvidia still had to stop production of the XX70 series cards.

The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB variant will likely be priced above the regular version. But then it all comes down to how well the price difference is between the two. Currently, there is no official information on when Nvidia will be announcing its new XX60 series Ada Lovelace cards, but it is highly likely Nvidia might do so at the Computex Keynote.
