Also Includes Bigger 8-inch Display!

The Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to be released in 2024. Reliable sources have reported that Nintendo is targeting a release window in the second half of 2024, leading to excitement for the gaming giant’s nearing release.

Following this report, a popular leaker, NateTheHate, shared more information about the console. According to the leaker, the Nintendo Switch 2 will ship with an 8-inch screen and 512 GB of storage.

An 8-inch screen would provide quite the upgrade over the previous iterations of Nintendo’s consoles.

In the past, the Nintendo Switch variants shipped with 6.2 or 7-inch screens. A bigger screen would lead to a better experience, allowing users to enjoy the improved visuals of the upcoming console.

The larger screen size may also be accompanied by a bump in resolution. In handheld mode, the Nintendo Switch supports 720p resolution, but the new iteration may offer 900p or 1080p resolution.

The 512 GB of storage would be another notable upgrade. Compared to the 64 GB of the OLED model or the 32 GB of the original, 512 GB would allow users to store plenty of games in the console without resorting to expandable storage.

Furthermore, the leaker believes that Nintendo will launch a new 3D Mario game with the console, like Super Mario Odyssey, which came a few months after the Nintendo Switch in 2017.

Despite various rumors, little is known about the Nintendo Switch 2. With a 2024 release seeming more likely than ever, Nintendo may be gearing up to offer a small teaser for fans of the gaming giant.

This could provide the much-anticipated first look at the upcoming hybrid console. However, this would leave out the technical specifications, with rumors claiming it will be on par with last-gen consoles like the PS4.

While this remains to be seen, Nintendo will likely partner with Nvidia for the upcoming console. This may lead to the inclusion of upscaling technologies like DLSS, which could help the Nintendo Switch 2 achieve performance and visuals like the PS4.
