Alan Wake 2 Currently The “Most Important” Project For Remedy

More Important Than Other 5 Projects!

Remedy Entertainment’s latest release is right around the corner. Alan Wake 2 seeks to deliver a dark survival-horror game brimming with atmosphere to make the most of its unique setting and visual aesthetic.

The recent footage from Summer Game Fest showed multiple playable characters, Alan Wake and Saga Anderson, highlighting that Remedy Entertainment has packed a lot of content in the horror game.

The latest interview from Edge provides more insights into the studio’s goals with Alan Wake 2, reporting that this is the most important project for the studio in recent years.

Why it matters: The upcoming title is the first major release for Remedy Entertainment since Control in 2019. This has led to excitement for the studio’s most ambitious project to date.

Alan Wake 2

The report confirms that Alan Wake 2 is among the most complex and ambitious undertakings for Remedy Entertainment. Sam Lake from Remedy Entertainment shared his thoughts on the project and stated that he had:

“Been trying to get Alan Wake 2 made for so many years.”

The report confirmed that Remedy Entertainment went through five concepts of the game throughout development. Unlike its predecessor, Alan Wake 2 is slowing its pace for a more intense experience, keeping players at the edge of their seats.

However, the report hints that this may not have always been the case. In terms of the studio’s current projects, various games have been in development for a while. This includes the highly anticipated remakes of the first two Max Payne titles.

Furthermore, the developer hopes to break into the live-service genre through a free-to-play co-op shooter. Topping it all off, Control 2 is also in development. However, the studio has given importance to Alan Wake 2 above everything else.

The game will be released on October 17 and faces the challenging task of standing out among recent and upcoming horror game releases. 2023 has seen remakes like Resident Evil 4, and upcoming releases like Silent Hill 2 will continue to add more competition to the genre.

However, Remedy Entertainment’s ambitions and aspirations with Alan Wake 2 could ensure that the title can stand on its feet and potentially surpass the competition.
