Lexar ARES RGB 32GB
Best Value RAM For i7-14700KF
Specifications: Memory Type: DDR5 | Capacity: 32GB (2 x 16GB) | Frequency: 6,400MHz | Latency: CL32 | Latency (Nanoseconds): 10ns | Voltage: 1.40V | Warranty: Limited lifetime | Multi-Channel Kit: Dual channel | RGB Lighting: Yes
Pros
- Low latency
- Decent overclocking potential
- Remarkable thermals
- Great gaming performance
Cons
- Large heatsink
The Lexar ARES RGB 32GB DDR5 RAM kit comes in black or white with a fully aluminum brushed heatsink. Upon installation, I found the heatsink slightly oversized, so ensure you have the RAM clearance before buying this kit. Besides that, the kit houses pretty RGB lights that are customizable through the Lexar Sync software. The kit offers 6,400MHz frequencies with a 10ns latency and CL34 timings. During our testing, the RAM kit showcased a read speed of ~65,000MB/s in AIDA64 Engineer. So, the performance per dollar value is remarkable for its price.
The Lexar ARES RGB DDR5 RAM kit has a decent overclocking potential. Aside from the Intel XMP 3.0 overclock, when I manually overclocked it, the kit went up to 7,000MHz with a 0.1V increment. Although, in my opinion, not overclocking the RAM would be a better choice, as the clock speeds are slightly unstable.
Here are Nauman Siddique’s thoughts on the kit:
The Lexar ARES RGB DDR5 kit offers high performance at 6400MHz and CAS32 for budget gamers, rivaling pricier options like the Kingston Fury Renegade DDR5. It features a sleek design with diffused RGB lighting, no branding, and a black aluminum heat spreader, perfect for stealth builds with RGB accents. However, its overclocking capabilities are limited, and it may not fit with larger air coolers. Overall, the ARES delivers excellent value in performance, design, and price.
Buy It If

Corsair Vengeance RGB RT 32GB
Best DDR4 RAM For i7-14700KF
Specifications: Memory Type: DDR4 | Capacity: 32GB (2 x 16GB) | Frequency: 3,600MHz | Latency: CL16 | Latency (Nanoseconds): 8.8ns | Voltage: 1.35V | Warranty: Limited lifetime | Multi-channel kit: Dual channel | RGB Lighting: Yes
Pros
- Various customization possibilities
- Low thermals
- Great gaming performance
- Visually attractive
Cons
- High voltage consumption
- Low overclocking potential
- No support for XMP 3.0
The Corsair Vengeance RGB RT has black and white heatsink variants for different build types. Additionally, I easily customized the RGB lights using Corsair’s iCUE software. While the RAM isn’t exceptionally long, I did have some RAM clearance problems with bigger air coolers. So, I recommend looking into it before buying the kit. Even with only a 3,600MHz frequency, I had no latency issues during my testing. Furthermore, my performance test in AIDA64 Engineer showed read speeds of ~50,000MB/s. Although these values don’t match DDR5 RAM kits, they’re excellent for DDR4 kits and don’t slow down the i7-14700KF.
The Corsair Vengeance RGB RT isn’t the best for overclocking because of its high voltage requirements. I only sufficed a 200MHz boost in my overclocking test by increasing the voltage significantly. I could neither change the CL timings nor stabilize the overclocks because of the high voltage consumption.
Buy It If
You don’t plan on upgrading to DDR5: If you don’t want to upgrade to the DDR5 platform, the Corsair Vengeance RGB RT DDR4 kit will let you stay on the older platform for a while longer.
Don’t Buy It If
You want to work on productivity tasks: If you plan on doing video editing and 3D renders, I don’t recommend purchasing the Corsair Vengeance RGB RT kit because of its DDR4 limitations. You’ll get better performance from DDR5 RAM kits in such tasks.
What Makes It The Best DDR4 RAM For i7-14700KF?
The fast 8.8ns latency, 3,600MHz frequency, remarkable gaming performance, and beautiful aesthetics make the Corsair Vengeance RGB RT the best DDR4 RAM for the Intel Core i7-14700KF processor. Furthermore, the various customization possibilities and low thermals add to the value of the RAM kit.

- Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB 7,200MHz CL34: The kit is too expensive and doesn’t have decent overclocking headroom.
- G.Skill Trident Z Royal Series DDR4 32GB 3,200MHz: Focuses on aesthetics making it pricier.
Benchmarks For The Best RAM For i7-14700KF
Knowing the performance of a RAM kit is an important factor to consider before deciding on which kit to purchase. Therefore, I have included all the results from my testing, which includes gaming performance and read/write speeds in AIDA64 Engineer. In the graphs, you’ll see the kits I selected competing against each other. Furthermore, you can check our RAM Comparison Tool for more options as well.
Important RAM Terms
- Voltage: The voltage showcases a RAM kit’s power consumption. While lower voltage consumption means more efficiency and better overclocking capabilities, it can also mean lower performance. Increasing the voltage can increase the frequency and tighten the CL timings.
- CAS Latency: Short for Column Address Strobe latency or CL timings; these timings show the time required for the RAM to make data available, which the CPU requests. Lower CL timings equate to faster data processing.
- RAM Frequency: A RAM kit’s frequency states how quickly the CPU and RAM communicate. Frequencies are measured in Megahertz (MHz), and higher frequency means faster communication.
- Heatsink: Better quality RAM kits come installed with heatsinks for greater cooling capabilities. Furthermore, greater cooling results in higher overclocking capabilities.
- DIMM Slots: DIMM slots are unique spaces on a motherboard where RAM kits are installed. The number of DIMM slots on a motherboard showcases how many RAM sticks can be installed in a particular system.
How We Picked & Tested The Best RAM For i7-14700KF
- Performance: Because I was using the Intel Core i7-14700KF processor, I had to consider whether a particular RAM kit enhanced the CPU’s performance. If the RAM kit bottlenecked the CPU in any way, it would not have made it into my list.
- Overclocking: The easiest way to gain a performance boost from your RAM kit is by overclocking it. Of course, it can be dangerous, but moderate overclocking can give you the boost you require. Therefore, I looked for RAM kits with at least some overclocking potential.
- RAM Clearance: RAM clearance should be of the utmost importance if you’re using an air cooler. There’s no point in buying a RAM kit if it doesn’t fit in your PC. That’s why I took care to select kits that aren’t too long.
- Aesthetics: Although aesthetics aren’t the most important, they can be crucial for gamers building a PC on a particular theme type. Thus, I looked for RAM kits that are fully customizable and available in various colors. This allows gamers to choose any RAM kit and customize it according to their needs.
