Ghost of Tsushima, PlayStation’s latest PC port, is due for launch tomorrow. Earlier this week, the game was subject to controversy after excitement had built up before launch.

While PlayStation had delisted the title from over 100 countries and many fans vowed to boycott this port, it seems Ghost of Tsushima has risen above the controversy. Over on Steam, this PC port has managed to reach the top spot among the best-sellers.

Why it matters: Sony seemingly had a falling out with its PC audience recently, so this update will be encouraging for the gaming giant’s future PC efforts.

Thanks to Steam’s current sales, the list of top sellers includes both new and old games. However, Ghost of Tsushima sits at the top of the list, even dominating most free-to-play titles.

Unlike past PlayStation releases, Ghost of Tsushima is launching with a handicap. Many pre-orders were instantly refunded when PlayStation removed the game from over 100 countries, making this position on the list more impressive than usual.

At present, the port is likely to be a much bigger launch than recent releases like Horizon Forbidden West, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and more. If we had to guess, it should be able to become PlayStation’s second or third biggest launch on the platform.

Helldivers 2 is more or less guaranteed to stay in first place since it achieved record figures for a PlayStation game.

Nixxes Software has also confirmed Steam Deck compatibility for this release. However, due to PlayStation account requirements, this version will be limited to single-player content and skip the Legends multiplayer mode.

Moreover, the team confirms a global release at 8 AM PDT and provides a comprehensive breakdown of local launch timings.
