Bethesda Game Studios launched Starfield a year ago, a title with untapped potential. While it didn’t sit well with fans, the studio says it is proud of the RPG and thinks it was a great release.

Why it matters: Xbox marketed Starfield as their next big exclusive, one that would bring them back into the industry. Though it did have a good launch and initially received some good comments, things quickly changed.

Talking to The Gamer, Starfield Lead Creative Producer Tim Lamb said that the studio is proud of what they launched. However, he is also aware that the general sentiment of the community isn’t all positive.

We were really proud of Starfield. It’s been a great release for us. We listen to the community, we hear the feedback.

He commented that they want to support Starfield for a very long time. The studio realizes the RPG’s shortcomings and will continue introducing new content that improves upon these drawbacks.

There is no doubt that Starfield is now a much better RPG. Among other things, it recently received a patch that enabled 60FPS for the Xbox Series X, which was one of the biggest drawbacks at launch.

In addition, the RPG finally received land vehicles, and Bethesda is set to launch the first DLC soon.

However, there are still plenty of things wrong with the game. With more updates, it might eventually become a much better experience, but this will take a lot of time. Fortunately, Bethesda is willing to stick with the title.
