Insane Pricing Coming Up For Next-Gen RTX Cards!

Story Highlight
  • New reports point to a $1999 launch price for the RTX 5090.
  • AIB variants of the graphics card could cost even more, leading to prices as high as $2500.
  • Nvidia’s pricing might mean a price hike for all cards of the RTX 5000 series.

Nvidia’s RTX 5090 has created plenty of buzz in recent months. Many have discussed this graphics card’s potential price and performance, but nothing has been revealed by Nvidia for now.

Adding fuel to the fire, a leaker has discussed an incredibly high launch price for the flagship gaming GPU of the RTX 50 series. According to reports, the RTX 5090 will cost at least $1900.

Why it matters: This would mark a major $400 price increase over last year’s RTX 4090, which was already quite expensive. The RTX 4090 could also cost up to $2000 for higher-end variants.

As per leaker Bits and Chips, the GeForce RTX 5090 will be quite a bit more expensive than its predecessors. He suggests that this information comes from OEM companies that are preparing for the upcoming launch next year.

This price would mean that higher-end RTX 5090 variants will cost more than $2000. Some could even push prices as high as $2500, creating history for the consumer graphics industry.

These prices could also be a sign of things to come for the rest of the lineup. With Nvidia expected to launch other cards from the RTX 5000 series earlier than usual, it may continue to hike prices across the full series compared to the last generation.

As absurd as a $1900 price for the RTX 5090 sounds, it would not be completely far-fetched for Nvidia to maximize its profit margins. AMD is said to be skipping the higher-end market for RDNA 4, leaving Nvidia free to price its products however it sees fit.
