3 GOTY Contenders Not Available On Xbox or Nintendo!

Story Highlight
  • Game of the Year 2024 Nominations were just announced Recently by The Game Awards.
  • It seems like half of the games nominated for this award are exclusive to PS5.
  • That said, Black Myth: Wukong is also playable on PC but this platform doesn’t count anymore as the exclusivity is only between consoles.

Many criticized Sony for not releasing enough first-party games this year or ever since the PlayStation 5 was released. The gaming giant has released some notable titles but fans were most likely furious over the unwanted remasters.

That said, GOTY nominees were revealed recently and half of the games nominated for the award are currently exclusive to PS5. Not only that but PlayStation also has the most nominations among any other publisher at The Game Awards.

Why it matters: PlayStation has been releasing quality titles for its console that has been ensuring it takes a lot of nominations at TGA. It also seems to do a lot of exclusivity deals with the other publishers.

Astro Bot, Balatro, Black Myth: Wukong, Shadow of the Erdtree, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and Metaphor: ReFantazio were nominated for the most prestigious award at TGA 2024.

Among the nominees, Astro Bot, Black Myth: Wukong, and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth are only available on PlayStation 5. While one of the aforementioned games is available on PC, this platform doesn’t count when it comes to exclusivity.

So, the three games aren’t available on either Xbox or Nintendo, giving PlayStation the edge. It is also worth noting that PlayStation as a publisher secured 16 nominations at The Game Awards which is the most among any this year.

While this doesn’t ensure the gaming giant wins more awards than the others, it surely is a great achievement.
