The title suffered through a tumultuous development hell, the Covid pandemic, and the Russia-Ukraine war to come out unscathed. While a successful launch was expected for the first-person horror survival—given huge pre-order sales, no one expected it to sell in the hundreds of thousands right after launch.
According to a new report, Stalker 2 has sold over a million copies, achieving the milestone in just two days after its launch.

In a new Twitter announcement, GSC Game World has confirmed that the Zone is incredibly crowded with players flooding Stalker 2 after launch. It has barely been 48 hours after release, and over a million units have already rolled out on all platforms.
On another commendable note, a huge number of Stalkers have also flooded the entry through Xbox Game Pass. While this figure does not really count for sales, it still shows that the title has been well-received on Xbox.
The launch of Stalker 2 has been quite a ride due to the many performance issues plaguing the players. However, the veterans of the franchise know that these ‘anomalies’ were to be expected—and patches are already underway.
Stalker 2 came out on November 20th, 2024, for PC and Xbox Series X|S. No Sony release is officially in the cards right now.
However, rumors suggest that the Xbox exclusivity will end in February 2025, so we might see a PlayStation launch in the coming months.
