Base PlayStation 5 Model Get Massive 25% Discount For Amazon Black Friday

Expert Verified By

The PS5 Pro Is Unfortunately Still Retailing For $700.

Story Highlight
  • Both PS5 Slim digital and disc editions have been discounted by Amazon by up to 25%.
  • You can get the disc version for $424, while the digital edition is retailing for just $370
  • The PlayStation 5 Pro hasn’t been discounted and is still retailing for its original $700.

The PlayStation 5 has had to go through a difficult road to reach its current status of available supply following the shackles COVID-19 put on it. All three models of the current-gen console are readily available globally and beyond scalper control.

With Black Friday also around the corner, the console is about to get massive discounts. Amazon started this trend a week before the actual holiday, cutting off up to 25% of the base models of PlayStation 5, bringing them to almost half the cost of the Pro version.

Why This Matters: Seeing the PlayStation 5 readily available with 25% of its price shaved off is good news for consumers and will make the console even higher on the sales charts.

PS5 Price Has Been Slashed On Amazon Due To Black Friday

First up, the base PlayStation 5 with no disc drive is currently 25% off, bringing its $500 price tag to a mere $374. If this cost not being nearly half the price of PS5 Pro, you will also get the brand-new NBA 2K25 as a part of this bundle, saving you the trouble of spending on a new game.

Amazon has also discounted the PlayStation 5 slim model that comes with a disc drive. Previously, this console version was available for $500, but following Amazon’s generous discount, it is now retailing for $424, making it a steal.

Hence, whether you like to buy games online or you would like to have a physical collection of video games, Amazon has you covered. Unfortunately, the PlayStation 5 Pro is not a part of this furry of discounts and is still selling for its starting price of $700.

The recently released Sony machine is a powerhouse, with 2GB of extra DDR5 RAM as compared to the base model and an ability to handle Unreal Engine 5 titles that the slim version simply doesn’t have. Hence, the PS5 Pro is worth the price if you have the money to spend.
