Elden Ring has been a massive milestone for Bandai Namco. FromSoftware’s latest release has seen universal praise from fans and critics alike. The title has introduced a brand new audience to FromSoftware games, and the player base continues to flourish months after release.

Therefore, it should be no surprise that Bandai Namco has seen huge profits from the title. The game has been selling like hot cakes and has quickly become one of Bandai Namco’s best-selling titles.

Bandai Namco has recently published its financial report for Q1 FY2023. The report paints an impressive picture for the company from now on, and Elden Ring seems to have played a considerable role in Bandai Namco’s success.

Elden Ring Tops Sales

The company has made an estimated revenue of about $1.62 billion. This is a huge 21.5% year-on-year increase over the previous report. This figure shows how much of an impact Elden Ring has had on the company.

However, this is only a small part of Bandai Namco’s success. The developer has also seen a whopping 64.3% increase in operating profits. Elden Ring has been given credit for the company’s 148% profits compared to last year.

These numbers make sense when taking Elden Ring into account. Since its release, the title has defied expectations for sales numbers. Elden Ring exceeded 13.4 million shipments less than three months after release.

FromSoftware’s latest release also stayed on Steam’s best sellers list for several months. The game’s popularity also helped it become the most watched FromSoftware game on Twitch long ago.

Moreover, IPs like Dragon Ball and Digimon have also contributed to this success. Recently, Digimon Survive became the best-selling game on Steam. Bandai Namco has adjusted its forecasts for the coming months, and all signs point to a bright future for the company.

Bandai Namco’s success has been surprising. Companies like PlayStation have reported sales drops of up to 26%, but this does not seem to be a concern for the Japanese giant. Despite initial expectations of just 4 million sales in a month, Elden Ring managed to go above and beyond previous FromSoftware games.

On the other hand, Bandai Namco also has IPs like Dragon Ball and One Piece, which should only add to an incredibly successful year. Bandai Namco seems to be at an all-time high in a time of downward trends for gaming companies.
