During an exclusive interview with the foreign website Axios, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot commented that the French-Canadian publisher’s Big AAA titles will now start at $70 (smaller scale games like Assassins creed: Mirage will still retail for $50).
Skull and Bones is the first title from the publisher to cost $70 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X. Still, like other publishers, i.e., Square Enix with the Final Fantasy VII Remake and Activision with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, PC users may also end up paying $70 for Ubisoft’s AAA games.
NEWS: Ubisoft is leaving $60 behind for its big releases. Skull & Bones new-gen is $70 (that was known). Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot told me: "Some of the games will come at the same price as the competition. The big AAA games will come at $70"https://t.co/jylN7mzk2K

Game prices haven’t changed in 30 years, and Take-Two first bought this $70 change-up with the NBA 2K21 launch, followed by PlayStation, Activision, EA, and Square Enix. It seems like now the industry is following it, though at a much slower pace.
On the other side, Green camp (Xbox) has yet to implement price increases for its games, though the company’s focus is currently building on the user base on the Xbox Game Pass ecosystem.
