Given that there is only a slight variation in both of these CPUs, the results we obtained were neck-to-neck in most games which summed up to almost a tie in their average values as well. If we were to get the exact values, we saw that the Ryzen 9 7950X won by the slightest margin of 0.48% by obtaining an average of 165.6 FPS whereas the Ryzen 9 7900X was extremely close as it acquired an average of 164.8 FPS

1% Lows 

The 1% lows had slightly more varying results, where the Ryzen 9 7900X achieved an average of 127.4 FPS while the Ryzen 9 7950X outperformed its rival by obtaining 129.8 FPS, becoming 1.86% better in the realm of 1% lows. This is still a negligible amount and doesn’t equate to much of a difference.

We observed that the temperature difference was recorded in the same way as the average FPS. Under load, the Ryzen 9 7950X operated at 95°C whereas the Ryzen 9 7900X ran at 90°C. Thus, the Ryzen 9 7900X is 5.4% more thermally efficient than the Ryzen 9 7950X. When idle, the Ryzen 9 7950X displayed 46°C while the Ryzen 9 7900X was recorded at 38°C – making it 19% cooler when it’s idle.

In terms of the power consumption, we finally saw a change of pattern. Here, we noticed that, under load, the Ryzen 9 7950X drew 381W of power whereas the Ryzen 9 7900X displayed a power consumption of 307W. This hands over the trophy to the Ryzen 9 7900X, which remained 21.5% more power-efficient than the Ryzen 9 7950X when they were both put under load. When idle, the Ryzen 9 7950X drew 123W of power while the Ryzen 9 7900X showed a minimal power usage of only 89W.
