A Plague Tale: Requiem was released on 18th October 2022 across all platforms and on day one on Xbox Game Pass. Just right after launch it also became the third most popular game on Xbox Game Pass. A Plague Tale Requiem overall got good reviews, to say the least, despite the factors like a 30 to 40 FPS cap on 120 Hz displays twist on consoles.

Still, its beautiful visuals and improved mechanics were appreciated. The game also performed well on weekly UK and US sales charts but was lacking behind games like FIFA 23 and Gotham Knights.

However, almost two weeks after the game’s release today, Focus Entertainment has revealed that A Plague Requiem has crossed over One Million players who have joined Amicia and Hugo on their Adventure.

It is still impressive if we consider games like FIFA 23 in its competition. After that, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was also waiting for its release on 28th October, just ten days ahead of A Plague Tale Requiem, and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 just obliterated all its competition, if it had any, crushing all the records, across all platforms like PlayStation and Steam and became the biggest entertainment opening of the year by breaking the $800 Million barrier in just 3-days.

The eventual success of A Plague Tale: Requiem was expected due to the love and appreciation its predecessor gathered. The hype for A Plague Tale: Requiem was crazy, and fans were impatiently waiting to experience the journey of Amicia and Hugo again. The one million mark in just two weeks after its release shows the fans’ love for the franchise.

It will be interesting to see if Focus Entertainment decides to explore the Plague Tale franchise further and how they will proceed with this recent success. What are your thoughts about this? Let us know in the comment section below.
