On 14th November 2022, nominees for The Game Awards 2022 were announced; while we saw some oblivious and well-deserved contenders for The Game of the Year Award, like God of War Ragnarok and Elden Ring, there were some surprises as well for the fans with games like Stray and A Plague Tale: Requiem in the race for the GOTY Award.

Not only were the nominees for GOTY Award announced, but all the games competing in all other award categories were also announced. Interestingly, 14 games nominated across the categories are available on Xbox Game Pass.

Xbox Game Pass has grown exponentially recently. The price-to-value ratio trajectory has been positive as Microsoft has taken its gaming division seriously to compete with the industry leaders.

Microsoft is providing insane value to the Game Pass subscribers by adding multiple third-party AAA games to its subscription service; not only popular AAA games are being added to the service, but new highly anticipated AAA games like A Plague Tale: Requiem is day-one releases on the Game Pass.

These games will cost you around $50-$70 if you buy them individually. Still, Xbox Game Pass is giving you these and hundreds of other high-quality games only at $9.99 for the most basic tier and $14.99 for the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, available on both PC and Xbox consoles, and includes additional perks like EA Play.

Over the years, Xbox Game Pass has become more of an ‘all you can consume’ service with its ever-growing games library; at one point, more than 40 games were scheduled to launch on Xbox Game Pass. It is evident that buying the rights of these AAA games and tying their launch with Xbox Game Pass on day-one costs a lot of money.

Still, recently it was revealed that Xbox Game Pass is profitable for Microsoft and has generated over $2.9 billion in 2021, despite the fact it has the least amount of subscribers behind Nintendo Switch Online with over 35 million subscribers, and PlayStation Plus leading the charts with over 45 million subscribers.
