Let’s go to what matters, the prices. XFX’s Radeon RX 7900 XTX was listed at a suggested retail price of $1,099, which is a small premium from AMD’s recommended $999. It’s little the RX 7900 XT was listed for $979 with an even lower $80 premium, but then again, that’s pretty much the MSRP of the top-performing model.
According to the leaked benchmarks, both graphics cards perform very similarly. This can be looked at in two ways. It may be enough to pay $899 for a GPU that you can overclock and close the gap to a higher model or pay a little more and get the most advanced model. In essence, the matter looks very tight considering the performance of both GPUs and their prices.
One thing that must be remembered is the recommended price, which only AMD is obliged to comply with, while each assembler is free to put the price they want. As happened with the Radeon RX 6600 in times of mining crisis, it is logical that some of its exclusive assemblers, such as XFX, offer the recommended price on a specific model.
XFX Radeon RX 7900 XTX Custom Variant Still Costs Almost $380 Less Than The Cheapest RTX 4080 Custom Model
Most interesting is that despite the premium compared to the reference model, it is $380 less compared to the cheapest GeForce RTX 4080 custom. It must be remembered that these two graphics cards fight in the same performance segment.
With this, it is logical to think that GPUs such as XFX, PowerColor, or Sapphire can offer more affordable prices compared to other non-exclusive manufacturers such as MSI, ASUS, or GIGABYTE, to give an example.
