Potential To Become The Best Gaming Chip Once Again!

Story Highlight
  • The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is set for a 2024 release, featuring a total cache of 104MB, positioning it as a top choice for gamers.
  • AMD is pivoting its strategy to better target the gaming community, especially following the underwhelming launch of the Ryzen 9000 series.
  • AMD has entered a marketing agreement to promote the Ryzen 7 9800X3D alongside COD: Black Ops 6.

The “Ultimate Processor for Elite Gaming” and “designed for increased frequencies” are the titles given to the upcoming Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor from AMD.

New information about the upcoming Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU was recently leaked in a video from leaker Moore’s Law is Dead. The documents he saw appear to name this chip as a “2024 product.

Why it matters: The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is significant because its focus on enhanced gaming performance allowing AMD to better compete in the gaming market.

It is worth noting that the information regarding the launch of Ryzen 9 9900X3D and Ryzen 9 9950X3D processors was not mentioned. As a result, we anticipate the more expensive 9900X3D and 9950X3D will be revealed at CES 2025.

Regarding the 9800X3D, it is described as “designed for increased frequencies” and has 104MB of total cache, which is consistent with earlier reports. According to MLID, AMD will also market the 9800X3D as the best X3D processor for gamers.

Furthermore, AMD is also expected to have signed a marketing agreement referencing the Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor with COD: Black Ops 6, along with the reference to the “RX 7000” graphics as “the perfect bundle” with Zen 5 X3D chips.

After the less-than-successful launch of the Ryzen 9000 series based on Zen 5, the Red team is now fully focused on targeting the gaming community. As a result, AMD is planning to launch its X3D options sooner rather than later.

The launch of the new Zen 5 based X3D chips will also help lower the price of the Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor. Which is currently being sold at a higher margin due to increased demand among gamers.
