The current coolers for the Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 series are impressive in handling the massive power draw and the heat these graphics cards produce. Among the bunch, only the GeForce RTX 4090 seems to be the only card that ships with an additional vapor chamber cooler.
Asus has just announced its third variant of the Noctua Edition graphics card, which starts with the GeForce RTX 4080. Asus Noctua edition graphics cards were first launched for the GeForce RTX 3070 and GeForce RTX 3080.
The graphics cards came with two Noctua NF-A12x25 fans and a custom cooler tailored to take advantage of Noctua’s best fans, giving users a cool and quiet gaming experience.
The Asus GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua Edition cooler has been completely revamped, which now comes with a vapor chamber cooler and an additional 5x 8mm heat pipes instead of the two found on the Asus TUF GeForce RTX 4080.
Furthermore, 6mm heat pipes have been reduced to only 3x instead of 5x found in the Asus TUF variant. These newly designed changes, along with the two Noctua NF-A12x25 fans, have increased the card’s cooling performance compared to the Asus TUF variant while operating at a much lower fan speed.
The Asus GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua Edition will also feature dual bios switch for silent and performance operation and ASUS 0dB technology that will switch the Noctua fans off when the card temperature goes below 50°C.
Aside from that, the smaller size of the Asus GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua edition would also make it ideal for PC cases that do not support lengthy custom cards, making the overall build compact.
What are your thoughts on the Asus GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua edition? Would you also like to see one for the GeForce RTX 4090 in the future?
