Avalanche Studios has developed several critically acclaimed titles like the Just Cause franchise and the Mad Max game. The team is currently working on their most ambitious game, titled Contraband. However, they also have several other projects in development.
While details on their upcoming projects are limited, a new leak has revealed a great deal of information on one of their upcoming games. The game is titled, Ravenboud: Tales of Avalt and features third-person, rogue-like gameplay set in a fantasy world.
The user @just4leaks2 has shared a few images from the game on Twitter. The leaker has shared information on Call of Duty: Warzone in the past, adding to his credibility.
While the images don’t reveal much, the user has also revealed some information on the upcoming game. The players are thrown into an open world as a “Vessel of the Raven” while defending themselves from enemies who have invaded their land. Moreover, players also can transform into a Raven, similar to Senu from Assassin’s Creed Origins.
In a typical rogue-like fashion, dying sees players starting over as one of three vessels. These vessels are like classes, with different sets of skills and abilities. The game also features upgrades that can be accessed through coins from looted crates. Shaun Weber has described the game as “Dead Cells, but open-world.”
Furthermore, Ravenbound: Tales of Avalt could also feature a live-service element. The leaker has indicated that the game will feature new quests, enemies, and rewards monthly. He further stated that the game is in a “good state of development” despite the lack of information.
While the leaker is confident in the game, the developers have not said anything. As with any leak, it would be wise to take this information with a grain of salt.
Ravenbound: Tales of Avalt certainly sounds promising, but it is unlikely to be coming anytime soon. Meanwhile, Avalanche Studio is also focused on Contraband, as they collaborate with Xbox Game Studios for their biggest AAA game yet. It seems like the studio has its hands full, and fans of the developer have a lot to look forward to.
