The Noctua NH-D15 Chromax.Black air cooler provides impressive cooling performance with its 2x 140mm fans running at 1,500RPM speeds. During my performance testing, the CPU averaged 58ยฐC in all games at 4K resolution without any overclocking. Moving forward, I also loved the cooler’s robust build quality, with the fans using black anti-vibration pads, keeping the noise at a silent 24.6dB(A). Moreover, the dual-tower heatsink allows for better heat dissipation, and all the heat pipes are directly connected to the copper baseplate.

The Noctua NH-D15 Chromax.Black is coated in black from head to toe, making it perfect for black-theme lovers. Neglecting all RGB, the air cooler is a splendid choice if you’re planning on building a stealth build with no RGB. However, that also makes the air cooler less interesting for many.

Here’s what Wajih Hyder Chohan, our hardware reviewer, had to say about the cooler:

The Noctua NH-D15 is a top-tier CPU cooler known for high performance and quiet operation, ideal for AMD AM4 systems. Its SSO2-bearing fans, easy installation, and reliability make it a standout choice for enthusiasts seeking top-notch cooling.

What Makes It The Best Overall CPU Cooler For Ryzen 7 5800X?

The Noctua NH-D15 Chromax.Black exceeds the performance of many air coolers by a great margin, and its all-black body looks stunning. We can confidently recommend it to anyone looking to buy a CPU for a powerful and heat-magnet CPU like Ryzen 7 5800X, as this is the best overall CPU cooler for the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X.

Read Our Enermax LiqMaxFlo 360mm AIO Cooler Review

When we talk about low-budget CPU coolers, most people assume they’ll be recommended air coolers. However, many AIO coolers at a tight price provide incredible cooling performance, like the Enermax LiqMaxFlo 360mm cooler. What I love most about this cooler is not just its performance but the value it brings to the table in terms of looks, build quality, and features. Merely talking about its thermals, during our testing, it nearly matched the EK-Nucleus AIO CR360 LUX D-RGB, one of the strongest AIO coolers on our test bench.

Moreover, the AIO cooler has an embedded pump fan that helps cool the motherboard’s VRMs. This is a pretty neat feature for a budget AIO cooler that few high-end coolers offer. However, the LiqMaxFlo sacrifices its aesthetics to bring all these features. For example, the pump design is pretty plain. Maybe something like the ARCTIC Liquid Freezer’s pump would have offered better dexterity, but I digress.

Besides the aesthetics, the thicker radiator can be a problem if you’re using an SFF chassis. Also, having no control over the pump fan means you can’t change its RPM speeds. Although I’d like to deny it, the pump fan sometimes gets loud. But if you’re fine with that, this cooler is perfect for users on a low budget.

Nauman Siddique, our hardware reviewer, was mesmerized by the Enermax LiqMaxFlo 360mm AIO cooler’s outstanding performance on his test bench. Considering its meager price, this is what he stated in his dedicated review:

The ENERMAX LIQMAXFLOW 360mm is a powerful AIO CPU cooler perfect for high-end CPUs. It features a thick radiator, dual-chamber pump, and a unique VRM fan to keep your CPU cool and quiet, even under heavy load. Itโ€™s also compatible with a wide range of sockets, has a refill port, and is rated for 400W TDP, making it an excellent value for the price.

โœ…Buy It If
You want an AIO cooler that’ll last a long time: Unlike other closed-loop AIO coolers, the Enermax LiqMaxFlo 360mm AIO cooler has a refill port on its radiator and comes with 100ml coolant, making it very easy to service. Furthermore, it also has a long five-year warranty, ensuring the AIO cooler won’t face any problems before that duration. So, if you want a budget cooler that’ll last a long time, this one definitely tops the list.
โŒDon't Buy It If
You want control over all the AIO cooler fans: I don’t recommend this AIO cooler if you want to control all the fans, including the pump fan, because the Enermax LiqMaxFlo 360mm AIO’s embedded pump fan doesn’t have any control. Moreover, the pump fan can get fairly loud at heavy loads, so watch out if you prefer a quiet environment.

What Makes It The Best Budget CPU Cooler For Ryzen 7 5800X?

The Enermax LiqMaxFlo 360mm AIO cooler not only delivers impressive performance but also has a low price tag. It is also exceptionally long-lasting with a five-year warranty, is beginner-friendly, and has impressive VRM cooling. It also has decent aesthetics, some RGB lighting, and some overclocking headroom. Thus, all these features and performance make it the best budget CPU cooler for the Ryzen 7 5800X CPU.

PRO TIP: The Enermax LiqMaxFlo 360 comes with a refill port on its radiator, making it easily serviceable. If you find yourself in a pinch, you can service the AIO by yourself, as the cooler comes with 100ml coolant.

Read Our EK-Nucleus AIO CR360 LUX D-RGB AIO Cooler Review

The Ryzen 7 5800X is a pretty efficient CPU. In most cases, you won’t require a high-end CPU cooler to keep its temperatures below the threshold. However, if you want to overclock it, something like the EK-Nucleus AIO CR360 LUX D-RGB is the perfect fit. Its 3x fans run at 2,500RPM speeds and a decent 72CFM, maintaining good airflow in the chassis. During our dedicated testing, the CPU averaged 66C in Cinebench R23, showcasing outstanding overclocking headroom with no chances of thermal throttling.

However, with its performance comes higher noise levels. We measured noise levels up to 56dB(A), meaning the EK-Nucleus doesn’t only top the performance charts but also the noise charts. In any case, I justify the AIO’s pricing because of its unique pump and radiator design, which is filled with customizable RGB lighting. Moreover, the pump lid is removable and rotatable, improving customization options. I also like the daisy-chained fans that reduce cable clutter and make installation easier. Lastly, the five-year warranty ensures you won’t have to worry about leaks for a long time. All in all, this cooler has little to dislike, especially regarding pricing and value.

While testing the EK-Nucleus AIO CR360 LUX D-RGB AIO cooler, one of our hardware reviewers, Awais Khan, was amazed by its top-of-the-line performance and lower price. Here’s what he stated:

The Noctua NH-L9a-AM4 CPU cooler utilizes a single 92mm fan running at a maximum speed of 2,500RPM, providing the bulk of the performance. During our dedicated performance testing, the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X CPU did not thermal throttle but averaged 68ยฐC at 4K resolution. We also loved the cooler’s sturdy build quality, providing two copper heat pipes and 55 aluminum fins that help with heat dissipation. Furthermore, the heat pipes are directly soldered to the baseplate to improve the cooler’s thermal capabilities.

There’s not much to look at with this cooler’s aesthetics because of its low-profile design. However, you can choose between a brown and black design to keep a proper color scheme in your PC build. We disliked that the cooler has no RGB, but it’s to be expected because of its price and height.

Sajjad Hussain, our editor-in-chief, was surprised by the cooler’s height and performance. This is what he stated in his review:

โ€œDonโ€™t even think for a second that cooler of this much small footprint would not be adequate for the cooling requirements as this cooler has performed well from noise-to-performance ratio.โ€

โœ…Buy It If
You’re looking for a small cooler that won’t thermal throttle your CPU: If you’re building an ITX PC and are looking for a low-profile CPU cooler that won’t bottleneck the Ryzen 7 5800X CPU, we recommend purchasing the Noctua NH-L9a-AM4 because of its height and performance.

โŒDon't Buy It If

You want more overclocking headroom: We don’t recommend purchasing this CPU cooler if you’re looking for slight overclocking headroom in terms of temperatures because this cooler can barely keep the processor cool at stock settings.

What Makes It The Best Low Profile CPU Cooler For Ryzen 7 5800X?

The Noctua NH-L9a-AM4 has an amazing size-to-performance ratio. We liked the low noise levels of the fans, even at maximum RPM. The good build quality and premium included fan make it an attractive deal and easy to recommend as the best low profile CPU cooler for the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X CPU.
