Shifting From Action-Adventure To Action RPG!

Story Highlight
  • Control 2 will be an action RPG, even though its prequel is an action-adventure game.
  • Remedy Entertainment shifting the genre might confuse fans, but it can be trusted to do bizarre things.
  • The game has a budget of €50 million, so it will need to sell 3-4 million copies to reach 100% ROI.

Control is one of the most unique action-adventure games that took many fans by surprise in 2019. It is brilliant how Remedy connects its games’ universe, but fans can’t get enough of that.

A sequel to Control is in development, and Remedy Entertainment has just recently revealed some information about it. Control 2 will be an action RPG with a budget of €50M. Remedy will have to sell 3-4 million copies in order to reach 100% ROI (return on investment).

Why it matters: Control, being an action-adventure, sets a base for the franchise, so it would be interesting to see how its sequel manages to enhance the experience by shifting genre.
