CDPR Still Willing To Create New Cyberpunk 2077 Content

CDPR Still Passionate About Cyberpunk 2077!

Story Highlight
  • Cyberpunk 2077’s development has been mostly concluded.
  • The team states it is still willing to revisit the game for more content if certain developers are passionate about it.
  • However, these updates will be much smaller, paling in comparison to update 2.0 or Phantom Liberty.

After revamping and successfully reviving Cyberpunk 2077 through Phantom Liberty, CDPR has now moved on to the sequel and The Witcher 4.

While bug fixes and maintenance remain a priority for the team, development has been significantly scaled back since last year. However, the game director remains open to more content for Cyberpunk 2077.

Why it matters: There is still room for growth in Cyberpunk 2077. The game’s current popularity also makes a strong case for continued updates.

During a recent interview, director Gabe Amatangelo was asked about plans for future Cyberpunk 2077 content updates. While it is understood that patches and fixes will be released, the director was specifically asked about more content.

His response was positive, sparking hope for the future of this IP.

If there’s a little something, and someone is passionate about it, we’re open to it.

However, he clearly mentioned that there would not be any major changes to the game.

One recent example of such a content addition was the surprise announcement of a functioning subway system after the team launched Update 2.0. In theory, this could mean that similar updates could arrive in the future.

CDPR is clearly very passionate about the project. However, the team might find that its current ideas are better utilized for the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel coming after The Witcher 4.

Therefore, any future content updates will face the challenge of forcing the team to decide whether they may be best saved for a larger-scale implementation in the next game.

Cyberpunk 2077 Should Be Worth A Billion Dollars Soon

The Cyberpunk 2077 team has been reduced to just 17 people for the time being. All focus is on The Witcher 4 as CDPR aims to create another revolutionary RPG. Therefore, we still appreciate CDPR for supporting the former despite its busy schedule.

Fans should not expect CDPR to implement features like the promised multiplayer mode for Cyberpunk 2077. However, it’s encouraging to see the team still willing to revisit the game out of sheer passion.
