First Hands-On Previews For DLC Incredibly Positive!

Story Highlight
  • Shadow of the Erdtree previews are finally out, and they are very positive.
  • The previews reveal information on the new bosses, areas, weapons, and skills.
  • The expansion seems to live up to FromSoftware’s past work, promising yet another exciting adventure.

Elden Ring dominated the industry in 2022 and won the most prestigious award. This game became the main highlight of 2022 and is still talked about to this date. FromSoftware has given it special treatment, as Shadow of the Erdtree will be the biggest expansion for this developer.

Following an exciting reveal a few months ago, the studio has given the media hands-on time with this DLC. Based on first impressions, Shadow of the Erdtree does not disappoint.

Why it matters: There was little to no doubt about how great the previews would look, and yet, they managed to surprise the fandom.

Fans can watch Maximillian Dood’s video for first impressions, as this is the one with the fewest spoilers. There might be more with even fewer, but Max is known for not spoiling the game too much, so you’re safe here.

The previews have exceeded expectations in every aspect. New enemy types are incredibly terrifying, the difficulty that FromSoftware is known for is there, and the expansion offers even more beautiful environments to explore.

It is also said that the content features as many as ten main bosses. These additions make it worth the $40 price tag. Some previews have even dubbed this content the expansion of the decade without exaggerating much.

Therefore, it seems FromSoftware’s additional content release for Elden Ring will live up to the original’s legacy.

The Upcoming Elden Ring Expansion Has Many New Skills And Enemies

Elsewhere, previews highlight that FromSoftware has introduced a new weapon type. From what we can tell, this will become an instant fan favorite.

Shadow of the Erdtree introduces a martial art class of weapons that let you bare-handedly fight enemies. So, get ready to leap through the air and beat the enemies down with kicks and fists.

Also, fans might remember the boss looking like a lion from the trailer. That boss is going to be a menace as it has 4 phases, so make sure you are ready for the expansion.

If there’s one thing that none of the previews fail to clarify, it’s that Shadow of the Erdtree is no pushover. The DLC finally comes out on 21st June and will be the only expansion for the game.

With just a few more weeks before the launch, anticipation was already high. FromSoftware’s latest round of previews has only added to the excitement for this DLC release.
