Xbox Games Showcase has finally revealed the first in-game footage of the popular IP, Fable. The franchise has returned after more than 13 years with a reboot, with development led by Playground Games.
Why It Matters: Since the Fable reveal in 2020, fans have been impatiently waiting for in-game footage of the beloved Xbox IP. Xbox Games Showcase 2023 gives us the first reveal of in-game footage.
The trailer hints at the game’s visuals and narrative. Utilizing the same engine as Playground Games’ Forza Horizon franchise, the fairytale land of Albion looks wonderful and vast from the perspective of the miniature-sized protagonist of the game.
The trailer features a voice-over by British comedian Richard Ayoade, who narrates the experience of Fable’s game, followed by the small protagonist jumping around the house and causing chaos.
While gameplay footage is still lacking, the trailer gives us an idea of what the game will look like, as the trailer is rendered in-game. Nevertheless, Playground Games has done an amazing job with this classic Xbox RPG.
Unsurprisingly, the trailer reiterates that Fable will be a day one Game Pass Title, just like all Xbox first-party games.
