Prepare Your PC For Final Fantasy 16!

Story Highlights
  • Yoshi-P says Final Fantasy 16 will require a high-spec PC for the best results.
  • They’re still working with lower-end hardware to try and bring down the minimum requirements.
  • The PC port is in the final stages of optimization ahead of the launch.

Final Fantasy 16 arrives on PC later this year. As we head closer to release, more details on the title are being revealed. While we don’t have proper system requirements, Yoshi-P says it will require a high-end PC to run smoothly.

Why it matters: Performance and optimization issues have become highly recurring in PC games, as shown by the broken ports of last year. Therefore, fans remain concerned when a game is said to have high-end system requirements.

Yoshi-P hasn’t specifically said what he means by a ‘high-end’ PC. Whether it’ll require the likes of a GeForce RTX 4080 or above is yet to be seen.

You’re going to need a pretty high-spec PC.

-Naoki Yoshida

According to the producer, they want a seamless experience for PC users. Therefore, high specs are necessary. Fortunately, he confirms that the team is currently testing optimization on lower-end hardware to make minimum requirements optimal.

He hints that the minimum target will land somewhere around the PS5 experience. This should mean that modern mid-range graphics cards like the GeForce RTX 3060 and Radeon RX 6600 will be needed for a decent experience.

Considering Final Fantasy 16 never ran too well on consoles, we hope to see the PC release performing better at launch. Developers could learn a thing or two from Nixxes in this department.

The PC port is now in its final stages, with Square Enix hinting at plans to target more platforms after this release. We hope to see an official announcement on the latter since many Xbox fans have been hoping to play Final Fantasy 16.

Final Fantasy 16 will also debut a free demo for PC. This should let players judge the port before the full purchase, making it exciting to see this graphical powerhouse from 2023 heading over to more capable hardware.
