MSI Launches Gaming Trio Series Radeon RX 7900 XTX/XT Graphics Cards

Expert Verified By

Unlike Asus, ASRock and Gigabyte, and other AIB partners of AMD, MSI didn’t release their custom Radeon RX 7900 series graphics card at launch.

But things have changed as MSI has come back with the launch of MSI Radeon RX 7900 XTX Gaming Trio Classic, which is 100$ more expensive than the reference model.

As expected, the new generation of graphic cards from both Nvidia and AMD are much more expensive than those released previously. Like in the case of Nvidia, we can see that the GeForce RTX 4090 price exceeds $1700 and even $2000 in some regions.

It is no surprise to anyone that the price of graphics cards in the United States is considerably lower than in the rest of the world. The reference model has an official price of $999, implying that MSI sells Radeon RX 7900 XTX for $100 more.

In addition, if we take the model into account, the Gaming Trio is by no means the company’s flagship model, which would be the SUPRIM X air-cooled and the SUPRIM LIQUID by water-cooled.

MSI has also taken the opportunity to finally launch the Radeon RX 7900 XT for $949.99, which implies only a rise of $50 compared to the official $899.

This may be MSI’s strategy since if stores don’t have other AMD RX 7900s for sale, they can take advantage of it and set higher prices, considering the majority of the custom variants of out of stock on Amazon and Newegg.

Taking a look at the leading American stores, one of the largest such as Micro Center, only has Sapphire Nitro+ RX 7900 XT, the top-of-the-range model that occupies no less than four slots. However, this is the XT and not the XTX, yet it retails for $1,049, $100 more than MSI RX 7900 XT Gaming Trio Classic.
