After the launch of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1630, we could see that it is the most modern graphics card with the worst performance in the market, to the point that it could not surpass the performance of the AMD Radeon RX 6400.
Now, these benchmark tests have gone further. NVIDIA’s Chinese AIB partner INNO3D revealed that GeForce GRX 1630 performance at 1080p resolution is even lower than GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, a graphics card launched 6 years ago (2016) at a recommended price of $139 compared to a GPU that has arrived without a recommended price.
The price of GeForce GTX 1630 depends on the market and chosen AIB partner or NVIDIA; it can be between $169 to $199 despite coming much later and being less powerful.
Due to current inflation, its price cannot be as low as 6 years ago, although that does not justify its low performance.
The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1630 arrives to officially replace the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti model based on the Pascal architecture, even though in demanding games, such as Cyberpunk 2077, its performance can be comparable to a GeForce GTX 1050 (not Ti), a graphics card that is a 17% less powerful than its older sibling.
If we look at the specifications of GeForce GTX 1630, this GPU has a TU117 GPU Core based on Turing architecture manufactured with a 12 nm manufacturing process of 512 CUDA Cores, 32 TMUs, and 16 ROPs with 1 MB of L2.
Its frequencies are 1,740 MHz in Base and 1,785 MHz in Turbo Boost, while its GDDR6 VRAM runs at 12 Gbps with a total of 4 GB for a 64-bit bus.
The only advantages of this new GPU over the old model is that the multimedia decoder has been updated to support more modern codecs such as VP8 and H.265, which the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti does not support.
