Finally, An Affordable RTX 40-Series GPU?

Nvidia might have finally settled on the MSRP for the upcoming GeForce RTX 4070. The information regarding the price of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 was confirmed during a press briefing that usually takes place before every launch.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 is reportedly settled at $599, while independent reviewers will be getting test units early next week. With a price tag of just $599, the GeForce RTX 4070 will be the cheapest card in the RTX 40 series lineup.

This also makes it much cheaper than its bigger brother, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, which was priced at $800 at launch.

The MSRP of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 is also similar to that of the launch price of the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti. Furthermore, the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti and GeForce RTX 3060 Ti were the most well-received Amphere cards from Nvidia for offering the best price-to-performance ratio.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 is expected to have 5888 CUDA cores with 12 GB of GDDR6X memory on a 192-bit interface. The GeForce RTX 4070 also has a similar amount of CUDA cores to that of the GeForce RTX 3070; the memory has been upgraded to GDDR6X instead of GDDR6, offering more performance and might be equal to that of the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti.

Aside from that, the memory will also be an upgrade over the GeForce RTX 3070 and RTX 3070 Ti, offering 4GB of extra VRAM. The price of the upcoming GeForce RTX 4070 is confirmed for now, though, in the end, it all depends on Nvidia and what the company decides at the last moment.

The current GeForce RTX 4070 Ti was initially marketed as GeForce RTX 4080 12 GB version, which was canceled due to the negative backlash from the community. So Nvidia might finally be listening to its community, at least the price suggests.

What are your thoughts on the price of the upcoming GeForce RTX 4070?
