Big Year For PlayStation PC Ports In 2024!

Story Highlights
  • Ghost Of Tsushima was released in 2020 and is now considered one of PlayStation’s best IPs.
  • According to a leak, the game will arrive on PC this year.
  • The leak states others, like God of War Ragnarok, will also arrive on the platform this year.

Ghost of Tsushima emerged as one of the best PlayStation exclusives last generation, earning praise from developers like Shinji Mikami and Hironobu Sakaguchi. The game was adored for its stunning atmosphere, open-world design, and combat.

This praise has transcended platform boundaries, leading to anticipation for the game from the PC crowd after PlayStation started porting its titles to the platform. According to a new leak, the wait is almost over since Ghost of Tsushima will be released on PC in 2024.

Why it matters: Very few games can offer a Japanese setting in gaming as authentic as Ghost of Tsushima, making it worth a PC port.

Ghost of Tsushima

The leak comes from a Nixxes Software employee on 4chan, claiming to have information on PlayStation’s PC ports for 2024. According to the report, 2024 will be the biggest year for Sony on the platform.

In addition to Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us Part 2 and Demon’s Souls will finally arrive on the platform this year. The leaker states Ghost of Tsushima’s port is being handled by Sucker Punch Productions.

This was the studio’s first time working on a PC version, leading to a much longer development cycle than anticipated. Since Naughty Dog worked on the PC version of The Last of Us Part 1, Sucker Punch Productions appears to be going for a similar approach.

While the game has already received various enhancements for the PS5, the PC version should deliver the best way to experience the game. Therefore, fans can expect features like ultrawide support, DLSS, enhanced draw distances, and more.

This PC port could also line up with an announcement for Ghost of Tsushima 2, expected later this year.

Meanwhile, PlayStation is quickly approaching the release of Horizon Forbidden West on PC. The game has been confirmed to include DLSS 3 support, though Nixxes Software has yet to confirm a release date.

The leak also mentions PC ports for God of War Ragnarok and Gran Turismo 7. While all of these may not come to fruition, Ghost of Tsushima is quite likely to arrive on PC since PlayStation has ported all of its biggest franchises to the platform in the last three years.
