Ghost of Tsushima’s PC port is just a month away, and Sony is experimenting with new options for its push towards the Windows-based platform. This game will introduce a PlayStation overlay and complete trophy support on PC.
Why it matters: PlayStation’s new boss, Hiroki Totoki, revealed that they are planning an aggressive policy to push towards the platform. Introducing the overlay, along with support for trophies, seems to be a step in this direction.
PlayStation Blog has revealed the much-anticipated news of the PlayStation overlay. It will open brand new grounds for PC users, as they’ll have access to friends list, trophies, settings, and their profiles, which previously weren’t available on PC.
The overlay will be available through the in-game menu or by pressing Shift + F1. Trophies will be similar to the game’s PlayStation counterpart. There will also be complete support for achievements on Steam and Epic Games Store.
You can use your existing PlayStation account to log in. However, it appears this version will have a separate set of trophies compared to the PS4 and PS5 versions. Moreover, the overlay is optional and can be disabled.
PlayStation has also revealed the official system requirements for Ghost of Tsushima on PC. The game has modest requirements, with 1080p at 60FPS requiring just a mid-range RTX 2060. The port is being handled by Nixxes, which is the best out there.
As expected, this version will support upscaling technologies like DLSS, FSR, and XeSS. Moreover, the title will come with the multiplayer Legends mode. Sony has confirmed that cross-play will be supported between PlayStation and PC.
Ghost of Tsushima is one of the most anticipated PlayStation releases on PC. It has already climbed Steam’s top sellers list before, and we expect it to make a major name for itself on the platform once the May 16 release date arrives.
