Intel’s 13th-generation Raptor Lake processors are set to be revealed on 28th September 2022. The upcoming generation is expected to be extremely strong for Intel, and close competition is predicted between Intel and AMD.
A few days ago, Intel accidentally listed a few processors from the Raptor Lake line-up. This also included their flagship Core i9-13900K desktop processor, revealing that the Core i9-13900K would come with 24 cores and 32 threads.
The Intel Core i9-13900K has now been spotted on the PassMark CPU benchmark. According to the benchmark, the Core i9-13900K is currently the world’s fastest processor in terms of single-thread performance.
While Intel is currently leading the chart, AMD’s Ryzen 7000 line-up is not currently listed on PassMark. Intel’s score does not mean much until rival brand AMD’s processors are directly compared against Intel.
On its own, the Core i9-13900K’s PassMark score is still impressive. The upcoming processor shows a nearly 10% improvement over Intel’s previous flagship Core i9-12900KS processor, with a score of 4833.
A few more processors from the Raptor Lake line-up can also be seen in the PassMark image. The Core i7-13700 appears to surpass the Core i9-12900KF while landing very close to the Core I9-i2900KS.
However, the accuracy of these benchmarks remains questionable. Only a small number of samples are currently available, and the website notes that the margin for error is high.
AMD’s Zen 4 line-up is set to launch later this week. As such, PC enthusiasts can expect to see scores for AMD’s new processors on the PassMark benchmark. On the other hand, Raptor Lake is scheduled to launch in October.
The Intel Core i9-13900K is expected to feature 8 (P-cores) and 16 (E-cores) along with 32 threads. Intel expects to quickly achieve 5.4 GHz while pushing up to 5.8 GHz with Intel Thermal Velocity Boost.
Raptor Lake is shaping up to be an impressive generation from Intel. AMD and Intel products appear to be very competitive in this generation as they push for more innovations in the PC market.
