Nvidia is expected to bring the Super variants of GeForce RTX graphic cards after it skipped this lineup last generation. However, reports claim it will combine the ‘Ti’ and ‘Super’ branding for a new graphics card this time.

Even though a ‘Super’ variant of the already released GeForce RTX 4070 Ti would not make much sense, a new leak hints that the rumored GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super is indeed real.

Images of the packaging design for the refreshed graphics card were leaked by MEGAsizeGPU, and considering his track record, there is not much reason to doubt this GPU’s existence.

Like everyone else, the leaker has been surprised by Nvidia’s plan to combine both of these lineups for a ‘Ti Super’ graphics card. He also finds the logo and packaging quite ugly.

The packaging for the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super is quite simple, like its predecessor. In terms of specifications, this graphics card will be based on the better AD102 GPU compared to the GeForce RTX 4070.

A bump to 8448 CUDA Cores and 16GB of GDDR6X memory should allow the graphics card to perform quite a bit better than its predecessor. Nvidia is also expected to retain the power requirements for the Super variants, with a slight increase for the GeForce RTX 4070 Super being the only exception.

While the Super variants from Nvidia remain unconfirmed, CES 2024 is right around the corner. A reliable leaker has suggested that the refresh will be announced at this event in January 2024.

The system requirements for next-generation gaming have increased exponentially. A game like Alan Wake 2 has raised the bar for visuals, but it requires some serious horsepower for users looking to benefit from these visuals.

Modern GPUs like the GeForce RTX 4090 are also struggling to maintain a stable performance without the help of upscaling in such titles. Therefore, the Super variants will offer a much-needed boost to performance at the high and mid-range product stack.

Hopefully, these cards will also include price cuts, leading to a better overall value proposition for PC gamers looking to make the most of next-gen features in gaming.
