Ubisoft Plus is a game subscription service by Ubisoft, introduced in 2019. The service provides subscribers access to a library of Ubisoft games, including new releases and older titles.
Confirming previous reports, Ubisoft Plus finally launched on Xbox consoles through Ubisoft+ Multi-Access for $17.99 / £14.99 per month.
To see users’ interest, the foreign website TrueAchievements conducted a survey asking whether they planned to subscribe to Ubisoft Plus on Xbox. The survey revealed that almost 90% of voters would not purchase the subscription (sample size of over 4k votes).
Many fans are complaining about the high Price of the subscription service, and the Price is not justifiable. Xbox’s subscription service – Game Pass Ultimate, costs around $14.99 / £10.99 monthly, including Game Pass PC and Console. Game Pass offers over 300 games from different game publishers compared to the 60 games that Ubisoft Plus offers.
There are no plans for Ubisoft Plus to be bundled with Game Pass. If Ubisoft Plus Multi Access does struggle with sales, as suggested by the survey results above, Ubisoft may explore options for integrating the service with Game Pass.
EA Play, a subscription service by EA that offers users access to a catalog of slightly older EA games, was initially available on PC. The service was recently integrated into Xbox Game Pass at no additional cost.
However, suppose Ubisoft Plus were to be integrated into Xbox Game Pass. In that case, it is likely that the subscription price would increase or that Xbox would introduce another tier to accommodate the added content.
Game Pass will continue to grow if such a thing happens. It is already a good standpoint for users to consider while buying a console as it gives them the freedom to play over a wide catalog of games for a limited monthly price.
Ubisoft Plus will support cross-play and cross-progression on selected titles, although the specific titles have not been listed. Additionally, subscribers will receive a 10% discount on purchases of new games and access to premium-edition DLCs and content.
Ubisoft Plus is currently available on Xbox, offering a game library that includes titles such as Far Cry 6 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Ubisoft Plus also provides day-one releases of their games, including the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which is reportedly delayed till 2024 and will be available on Ubisoft+ Multi Access on day one.
However, it’s worth noting that Ubisoft+ Multi Access provides a smaller game library than Ubisoft Plus on PC. Nonetheless, the subscription lets you play on Xbox, PC, and Amazon’s cloud gaming service, Luna. As of now, the service is also limited to a few countries.
