- MSI’s latest BIOS versions introduced slight memory latency on X870E Godlike.
- The new updates fixed it with a new feature called ‘Latency Killer’
- Latency Killer significantly improves the latency for better performance.
MSI has been leading the charge regarding the hardware market this generation. The MEG X870E Godlike and MAG X870 Tomahawk for the latest AMD CPUs are the perfect choice for both higher-end and mid-range PC users.
With their latest BIOS versions, AGESA 1.2.0.2a, and AGESA 1.2.0.2b MSI slightly increased the memory latency. However, they’ve now introduced a new ‘Latency Killer’ feature that vows to fix that issue.
Why it matters? The slight latency introduced with the new BIOS version affected some consumers, who couldn’t get the maximum performance out of their systems. MSI has now fixed that with the Latency Killer.
So, if you are on the latest AGESA 1.2.0.2b, you can just simply head over to your BIOS menu and locate Latency Killer. You can either turn it on or off or keep the option in Auto mode so the system will use it when required.
We have new feature “Latency Killer” introduced to MEG X870E GODLIKE. This feature is to reduce memory latency for latest AGESA 1.0.0.2b.

This will be helpful for people who want to get the maximum usage out of their system. While the latency introduced with AGESA 1.2.0.2a, and AGESA 1.2.0.2b wasn’t a deal breaker, it was somewhat of a letdown for certain customers.
Nonetheless, X870E Godlike just as its name suggests is unarguably one of the best motherboards out there. It was even overclocked to a whopping 7.241 GHz with the help of LN2 cooling on this specific motherboard.
