Nvidia Reportedly Working On New PC CPU To Directly Challenge Intel, AMD, & Apple

Aiming To Dominate CPU Market As Well?

Story Highlight
  • AMD and Intel dominate the PC CPU market completely, with the former one having the upper hand.
  • However, Nvidia, a tech giant that dominates the GPU market, seems to be interested in going toe-to-toe with AMD and Intel in their domain.
  • The giant is reported to be working on an Arm-based Processor for PC to compete with other tech giants.

Nvidia is well-known in the tech market, and it arguably develops the best GPUs. While AMD takes the throne for making the best CPUs, Nvidia dominates the GPU market. However, things might change a little as the latter seems to be interested in the PC CPU market as well.

According to a recent report, it seems like Nvidia is working on a PC CPU that aims to go toe-to-toe with Intel, AMD, and Apple

Why it matters: Nvidia is known for its GPUs, but it has also worked on quite a few CPUs. Its Tegra line of ARM chips is mostly used in mobile devices, so not many are aware that the tech giant is invested in this market, too.

Nvidia Seems To Be Thinking About Dominating The CPU Market As Well.

DigiTimes has reported that Nvidia is working on a new Arm-based CPU that will directly challenge the likes of Intel, AMD, and Apple. There were already plenty of rumors that the tech giant was working on an Arm-based PC CPU, so there is more to it now.

Nvidia is no stranger when it comes to arm-based processors. Even on the Nintendo Switch, you will find a Tegra chip made by Nvidia, and these chips are also now found on Androids.

According to the report, the giant is expected to announce the new PC processor lineup in September 2025 and release it in March 2026. So, if the report is accurate, fans will have to wait a long time to confirm the existence of these new CPUs.

AMD Already Has A Pretty Solid Footing When It Comes To PC Processors.

Thanks to Qualcomm, we already know how capable Arm is with Snapdragon CPUs on laptops. So, there is no doubt that Nvidia can make something that will shock the world

However, dominating the market when there are competitors like Intel and AMD would be extremely hard, especially when the latter releases CPUs like 9800X3D.

We recommend taking this information with a massive grain of salt and waiting for the official confirmation from Nvidia.

What do you think about the tech giant working on a processor that could rival the likes of AMD and Intel? Do you think Nvidia can dominate the CPU market as well? Let us know in the comments section below, or join the discussion at the official Tech4Gamers forums.
