Nvidia To ‘Seize The Whole Market’ With RTX 50 Series, Says GPU Cooling Supplier

RTX 5090 and 5080 Expected To Be Announced Sooner!

Story Highlight
  • Auras will provide cooling components for Nvidia’s upcoming RTX 50 ‘Blackwell’ Series GPUs, including manifolds and cold plates.
  • The new RTX 50 GPUs are expected to require more than 450 watts of power, potentially making them hotter than previous generations.
  • The RTX 50 series is likely to launch in January 2025, with initial demand building in December.

DigiTimes Asia reports that several of Auras’ essential cooling components are already on Nvidia’s suppliers list. Auras Technology provides cooling solutions for GPUs. Its manifolds and cold plates are utilized in desktop GeForce RTX GPUs.

Why it matters: Auras’ involvement in supplying cooling solutions for Nvidia’s RTX 50 GPUs highlights the growing demand for advanced cooling technologies, which will be crucial as these high-power graphics cards are released.

Auras Technology is listed as a recommended supplier by NVIDIA as well. It will provide its partners with components for the GeForce RTX 50 ‘Blackwell’ Series of cards, which are anticipated to go on sale in the first half of next year.

In a recent financial earnings call, Yu-Shen Lin, the chairman of Auras, stated that the GeForce RTX 50 Series might “seize the whole market starting in December.” As a result, demand for its cooling devices will increase in both the desktop and server markets.

This news may be interesting for those anticipating Nvidia’s newest graphics cards, which are said to need more than 450 watts. If that power need is real, the 50-series GPUs will probably operate hotter than earlier GPUs, requiring more reliable cooling methods.

Nevertheless, most evidence still suggests a January 2025 debut, even with Aura’s December projection. Jensen Huang will be the keynote speaker at CES 2025, and one of the largest consumer electronics trade exhibitions in the world is the ideal setting for launching its next-generation discrete graphics cards

Lin predicted the series would be released in December because the company is likely to deliver cooling components for cards that month. That said, when Nvidia supposedly releases its newest range of graphics cards in January 2025, it will help guarantee that there will be enough supply for the market.
