December 2022 Was The Best Month For PlayStation 5 Sales!

PlayStation 5 has been a massive success, as fans worldwide have praised the console since its release. Although it had a rough start with supply issues, they are improving with each passing day.

The PlayStation 5 was last reported to have shipped 25 million units as of September 30, 2022. During the CES showcase, it was revealed that the PlayStation 5 has officially sold 30 million units after shipping at least 10.7 million units so far during Sony’s current fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2023.

SIE president Jim Ryan, who also spoke at the CES showcase, shared that December was the PlayStation 5’s biggest month and improved the console’s availability, allowing more customers to purchase the console right now.

With less than three months left, Sony now needs around 7.3 million PlayStation 5 units to ship to hit its target of 18 million units shipped for the current fiscal year. 7.3 million units in less than 3 months is a big number, but Sony still thinks they can hit it.

Sony has also set a goal for the upcoming fiscal year to ship 23 million PlayStation 5. In the same stage of its lifecycle, this would place the console ahead of its predecessor, the PlayStation 4.

We are excited about the future of the PlayStation 5. This is the limited information we have for now, but we will be looking for more news regarding the PlayStation 5 in the future.
