Various Free DLCs Also Coming In 2024!

Story Highlight
  • Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will receive free content soon.
  • The free updates include game modes along with outfits and amulets.
  • A story DLC for the game has also been confirmed for 2024.

Ubisoft successfully revived the Prince of Persia series with The Lost Crown this year. While the game took a 2D Metroidvania approach, it was a critical success, becoming Ubisoft’s best user-rated game on Metacritic.

Despite its reported commercial failure, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has set a high bar for this IP and its future entries. Continuing its win streak, the publisher has announced a new roadmap for the game, confirming story DLC for 2024.

Why it matters: Free DLC for a non-live-service game is a rare occurrence, making it quite an interesting approach from Ubisoft.

According to the official post-launch roadmap via Ubisoft, the game will receive a story DLC in 2024. However, various other additions are planned before this DLC, expanding Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.

The game will be getting a speedrun mode in March, in addition to a Permadeath mode and new outfits. The speedrun mode, in particular, will be exciting for streamers and content creators.

Staying true to the game’s challenging nature, the permadeath mode will allow skilled players to test their mettle. Aside from that, in Spring 2024, a Boss Rush mode will be added to the game.

New outfits for Sargon are also planned.

In the Summer of 2024, Ubisoft will introduce new combat, platforms, and more exciting puzzles, among other things. Moreover, all the aforementioned modes and equipment will be free of cost.

Ubisoft has yet to confirm whether the story DLC will be free. Its release date has not been set in stone either, but more information should be available soon.

For those looking to try Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, the game is currently on sale across various platforms, including Ubisoft’s PC storefront. In our review, we had a lot of praise for this excellent revival, so we urge readers to give it a go.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft is hard at work on Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake, so the series has a lot to offer for new and returning fans.
