Redfall was released in May as an Xbox exclusive, and while it has been over 6 months since the game launched, it is still struggling to attract players on PCs and consoles.

Soon after its release, the shooter became the lowest-rated game from Arkane Studios, and it has also joined the list of the worst-rated releases on Steam. However, the title may be approaching a comeback.

Following the recent updates, over 70% of recent reviews have been positive on Steam.

Why it matters: Games like Cyberpunk 2077 and No Man’s Sky have bounced back after incredibly unfavorable reviews at release, so the same could happen for Arkane Studios’ title.

At the time of writing, Redfall has over 75 reviews in the last 30 days, and over 71% of them are positive. The reviews could continue to improve since the game is currently discounted by 75%, motivating more people to try it.

While the overall reviews are still negative, recent updates to the game have been encouraging. The game now runs at 60FPS on consoles, and PC performance is also much better.

Looking at the new reviews, many people appear to be enjoying Redfall. They claim it runs well, and issues like poor AI have already been ironed out through the latest patches.

Other positives include satisfying gunplay, exploration, and atmosphere.

It appears fans are happy with what the game offers at the current discounted price. Still, these reviews may have been different if the game was priced at $70.

A reliable leaker recently suggested that Bethesda Softworks plans to redeem Redfall. While long-term support is not guaranteed, these reviews might just be the beginning of something bigger for this title.
