According to @AnhphuH, the high-end market will soon see two more alternatives for AMD’s Zen 5-based Ryzen 3D V-Cache products. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D processors are expected to be sold in late January following the CES 2025 announcement.
Why it matters: The new Ryzen 3D V-Cache processors could significantly boost performance for gamers and content creators, especially with the 9950X3D potentially outpacing the 7950X3D by up to 64% in benchmarks.
The core count on these new 3D V-Cache options will remain the same. That said, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D will feature 16 cores and 32 threads, while the Ryzen 9 9900X3D will have 12 cores and 24 threads.
Unfortunately, we do not have official specifications for these processors, so we are unable to determine whether they will have more cache or higher frequencies. However, we can be almost certain that they will have outstanding performance, using the Ryzen 9800X3D as a reference.

Judging from the performance results of the current Zen 5-based 3D V-Cache processor, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D may actually outperform the Ryzen 9 7950X3D by up to 64% in benchmarks. The difference in gaming performance will be less pronounced but still rather impressive.
STALKER 2 and other recent games are experiencing issues, where the processor greatly impacts performance. There are games where the CPU model we have significantly impacts the user experience.
This typically happens in video games at 1080p resolutions, but it has also been seen at 1440p and 4K with the GeForce RTX 4090 where the Ryzen 7 9800X3D outperforms the Ryzen 7 7800X3D by 25% in terms of frames per second when using the maximum graphics at 1080p.
