Latest Milestone For Starfield!

The release of Starfield marks a turning point for the first-party lineup of Xbox. Following several years of disappointments, the Xbox Series S|X consoles have finally received their first blockbuster release in 2023.

Bethesda has delivered a compelling RPG for fans of its previous games and newcomers alike, reaching over 6 million players in less than ten days after release. However, 12 days later, the game has reached another milestone.

According to Bethesda, Starfield has reached over 10 million players today.

Why it matters: Starfield was in the race for Game of The Year in 2023, and millions of gamers were looking forward to the title because it came with the promise of Bethesda’s first new IP in over a decade.

While the game was already a success at release, it has recently reached new peaks on platforms like Steam.

The game currently stands at a peak concurrent player count of around 330K players, while Microsoft confirms the total concurrent player count has reached 1 million players across all platforms.

Weeks after its release, Starfield has also continued to stand among the most played games on Xbox consoles, currently second only to the massive free-to-play battle royale title Fortnite.

Additionally, the game has retained its place among the top 10 best-sellers on Steam, despite highly-anticipated titles like Lies of P and Mortal Kombat 1 having been released recently.

Such figures have made Starfield a bigger launch than any previous Bethesda game, beating the likes of The Elder Scrolls 5 and Fallout 4. However, the game’s journey has just begun.

While players are already engrossed in their adventures across the RPG’s massive universe, new additions like future patches and DLC next year will incentivize players to return months after release, establishing a healthy community around the RPG.

Starfield has also increased the excitement for The Elder Scrolls 6.

Bethesda is fully dedicated to the next entry of The Elder Scrolls IP after the latest success, and millions of RPG enthusiasts have already begun to speculate about the studio’s plans for the next breakthrough in the RPG genre.
