Starfield Becomes 3rd Best-Selling Steam Game Ahead of Release

Already In The Top 3 Best-Sellers!

Starfield is shaping up to be one of the biggest releases of 2023. With less than a month before release, the game had already joined the top 10 best-sellers on Steam.

However, the anticipation continues to grow with each passing day. This growth is also highlighted in the game’s recent position on Steam’s best-sellers list. It has climbed several spots, becoming the third best-selling title on Steam.

Why it matters: Bethesda Game Studios has spent several years ensuring the RPG lives up to the industry’s expectations. With Starfield being the developer’s first new IP in 25 years, many have high hopes for the game.

Starfield has dethroned top-sellers like Remnant 2. Not too long ago, Remnant 2 had a comfortable lead over Bethesda Game Studios’ upcoming RPG.

However, Baldur’s Gate 3 remains in the first position. It recently became the second biggest Steam launch of 2023 and is on track to become the best-rated game of the year on Metacritic.

Considering Starfield is headed to Xbox Game Pass at release, this is an impressive result for the RPG. Bethesda Game Studios has already established a dedicated community on PC through the support of modding.

Therefore, fans have likely decided to buy the game on Steam for future modding potential. It should also be noted this list excludes free-to-play titles like PUBG and CS:GO.

Starfield holds the potential to lead a strong first-party lineup for Xbox in 2023. Recent footage from June also looked extremely promising, with Bethesda Game Studios seemingly gearing up to release a very special game for the studio next month.
