The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a 2023 action-adventure open-world game developed and published by Nintendo. The game is currently available worldwide on Nintendo Switch.
However, gamers with powerful PC setups can enjoy this game on their PC through emulators. The Yuzu emulator has come this far that we can now play The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom at 4K/60+ FPS.
With time and new mod updates, alternatives and improvements appeared; as seen in the video above, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom runs smoothly at 4K and over 60FPS on Yuzu.
But to replicate this experience, you need flagship PC hardware; the above gameplay was recorded on a rig featuring Intel Core i9-13900K coupled with GeForce RTX 4090 and 64GB DDR5 RAM running at least 5600MHz.
During the gameplay of the game in the video. It does not reach 100% of GeForce RTX 4090 usage, and the CPU is only used between 15 and 20%. Most impressive, apart from the FPS improvement compared to a month ago, there are no performance issues anymore. So you can also run games on mid-range PC with some performance optimization tweaks.
According to the YouTuber, he uses Dynamic FPS 1.5.3 beta four mod with HavokFix, the Visuals Fixed 1.1.2 mod, and a couple more. This way, it doesn’t seem like a long list or tedious procedure, considering that emulators allow you to install mods easily.
So, if you want to play Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom game on a PC with more than 60FPS and 4K on Yuzu, you must use the mods mentioned above.
Of course, very few people will have a PC as powerful as this, but we can lower the game’s resolution since it is played with 1080P mod + 3X native resolution scaling.
The YouTuber mentions that you must limit the FPS to 120 using RTSS (Rivatuner) to avoid crashes. Speaking of frames, it achieves more than 100FPS at certain times, especially indoors and flying.
