Nina Returns For Tekken 8!

The Tekken World Tournament finals are currently underway, with the best Tekken players competing to find out the winner for the most stacked Tekken tournament of the year. In addition to the tournament, Katsuhiro Harada and the Tekken team have also dropped new information on Tekken 8.

The developers have released a deep dive video going into the depths of the new mechanics for the next Tekken installment, and a Closed Alpha Test for Tekken 8 has also been announced

To participate in the Closed Alpha, Tekken players must register for the Tekken 7 Evo Japan 2023 tournament. This is a mandatory step and cannot be skipped. Once registration for Evo Japan is completed, players can sign up for the Alpha through a website

A raffle will be used to determine participants if the number of registrations is much larger than expected. This Closed Alpha Test is likely being conducted to receive player feedback on the many new mechanics in the game.

The developers have also specified that the Alpha Test will only be conducted in select regions. Evo Japan will give players the first opportunity to register for the test, and more details will soon come.

As stated earlier, Tekken World Tour also gave fans a deep dive into the new mechanics introduced in Tekken 8. The next entry focuses on aggressive playstyles, and mechanics like the Heat System are crucial to ensure that players maintain aggression throughout the matches.

The Rage Art from Tekken 7 returns, but Rage Drives have been removed to facilitate the Heat System, which allows players to perform special attacks and maintain the advantage in battle.

Tekken 8 also introduces a recoverable gauge that introduces a new layer to the already complex Tekken gameplay. This acts similar to the gauge from Tekken Tag Tournament, but players need to attack or guard to ensure that the gauge is recovered.

Finally, a character announcement has also been made for Tekken 8. Classic Tekken character Nina Williams is returning for the next game, and a trailer shows her design and moveset in the game.

While Tekken 8 is expected to be released in 2024, the developers have shared plenty of information for fans of the series. Tekken 8 promises to overhaul the franchise with incredible visuals and bring an exciting take on the long-running series.

On the other hand, Tekken 7 is still going strong years after its release. A brand new Tekken World Tour has been confirmed for Tekken 7 in 2023, ensuring that fans can keep themselves busy as they wait for the new installment.
